The nearest town, Alhaurin el Grande is about 1.5miles away and is steeped in history dating back beyond Roman occupation to the Phoenicians. Alhaurin el Grande is one of the prettiest traditional towns in the region as it nestles behind the uniquely forrested slopes of the Sierra de Mijas and looks down towards the fertile plains of the Guadalhorce valley. There are numerous bars and restaurants to enjoy the gastronomies of the area, tapas with 'copa' or just to enjoy a coffee outside in the warm. Nearby Coin also offers a range of typically Spanish shops and activities and positioned between the two towns our holiday rental is perfectly situated for tranquility with convenience.
The famous favourite white village, Mijas, is only a 20 minute drive over the Sierra de Mijas which offers spectacular views of the coast, or alternatively for a seaside day, Marbella and Fuengirola beaches are reached easily on excellent roads. You can be sunbathing, swimming or sipping sangria by the surf in half an hour! There is so much to do and see - there is something for everyone.

Perfect Rural Retreat
This holiday home is perfectly situated for a relaxing break, the villa itself was clean and well equipped and the location ideal for exploring this area of Spain. The fruit was in abundance in the garden which we took advantage of! The villa has the most stunning mountain views that we never tired of, it is off the beaten track but yet near towns and restaurants. The pool was definitely the highlight of our fortnight and when we could tear ourselves away we enjoyed visiting the Ardale lakes, Marbella and Mijas. The owner was helpful and the directions were accurate, they always communicated promptly. I would definitely recommend this holiday home to friends and family, it is perfect for those that want to experience a bit of rural Spain.

Fantastic
We arrived here in the early hours, wondering what we were going to find. The owners had arranged to leave the lights on for us, and as we opened the door, the wonderful smell of Pine greeted us. The Place was Clean and Immaculate. Something we had not experienced before. Renting via other advertisers in the past, i have usually spent the 1st day cleaning. Not Here though..... our holiday started straight away. Suzanne had also left some essentials in the fridge for our arrival. Phew! I though i was going to be going on a mission to find the local shops at daylight. Everything was catered for. Arriving with 3 boys (11,7 and 3) it is sometimes hard to keep them occupied, but with internet connection and Loads of DVD's that Suzanne has at the property, they were happy. We were all Happy when we saw the Fantastic swimming Pool. WOW! Views for miles, and well looked after. The Pool cleaning company came round every few days. Positioned in a great area for exploring, it is only a short car ride to the town, and about 30 mins to the coast. Coin has a Lidl and a couple of other large super markets. With all the facilities, at this cost, its value for money... We shall be returning, as this is the best we have found.. Thanks Suzanne and John.
