The Villa - sleeps 6+1

This country villa is surrounded by olive trees and overlooks the lush green 'huertas' of orange groves on the Northern side of Alhaurin el Grande. It boasts picturesque views at any time of the year.

The main entrance opens directly into the upstairs open living area, including well equipped kitchen with oven, gas hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and dishwasher and the dining room with large French windows opening onto a terrace looking onto the pool and garden, and giving spectacular views to the North.

Downstairs, the living room, also with large French windows, opens to the patio, pool and BBQ area.

There is air conditioning is in the central living areas upstairs and downstairs.

With 4 bedrooms the house spaciously sleeps 6 + 1

The bedrooms comprise of a double with king size bed, 1 with twin single beds and 2 single rooms. There is a fold up bed available, as well as a travel cot.

There are 2 bathrooms, 1 with shower and the other with bath and shower.

Outside there is a washing machine and washing line for guests to do their laundry and next to the pool is a cold water shower.

The Garden

The garden has ample terrace around the pool and lawn for relaxing. The remainder is planted with fruit trees, pines, palms and other typical Mediterranean flowering shrubs and herbs to encourage wildlife and enjoy throughout the year.

We use the oranges to make marmalade in the winter and in the early summer the apricot tree is usualy ladend with fruit for snacking on an evening wander.

In the borders are rosemary and thyme, which also grow wild up in the woods. There is a bay tree and plenty of lavender.

Flora and Fauna

Wildlife is abundant in the Guadalorce Valley and there are many species of insects, reptiles and birds living in the garden or near our country house. It is not unusual to see the local booted eagles circling above searching for their prey. Hoopoes, bee eaters, stonechats, blackcaps, egrets and little owls are a few of our regular visitors to the garden. Less commonly seen, but if you are lucky you might also spot the handsome Iberian hare or a chameleon!
